Christmas 1958

Word has gotten back to me that someone who isn’t even remotely the focus of this blog, thinks that indiscriminate cropping of the banner photos to feature the person who IS the focus of this blog, just stinks. So perhaps we ought to remedy the situation and show one of the pictures that did get cropped and featured recently.

I think this photo was taken at Christmas in 1958. Lisa looks about a year and a half old. The boys have their cowboy outfits on, complete with firearms. Lisa has a new doll and Judy has a music box with a twirling ballerina. Poor old Mom and Dad aren’t showing any gifts. I don’t remember any of this, maybe Judy’s jewelry box.

Like Grandfather, Like Father, Like Son

While rooting around in the old pictures today, I found one of me and (I think) a better one of Lance for the “Like Father, Like Son” entry I did the other day. Here is the amended version.

It is nice to see pictures of grandpa Roc. I don’t see them often.

  2. leah says:

Is that what they called Raymond? “Rock” I called him “Ucle Raymie”. Or Jessica who is that person.

Can you believe Butch was ever so cute….He should have been one of those models. Wow, then you’d have really been in the chips. Very British in your Harrods type overcoat…in the past blog. Love the stuff in this. Leah

From what dad told me, they started calling hum Rocky at work when some french guy started calling him “lucky” for some reason, and mispronounced it and they all thought he called dad rocky. and, it struck.

  8. Aunt Linda says:

Ben still wins it for me on the “too cute” photo but I love seeing all of these oldies and goodies. Seeing Rocky again is really great…
I always love every picture of baby Lance and young Butchie is precious but I hate to admit it because he gets such a big head….

Hey! I never complained about any cropping! Who has started this rumor! I am innocent.

But I do remember the jewelry box and none of the rest! Great photo.

The boys are good too. Now we need to add a sixth generation to “Father’s Father”
